Technology: Capabilities and Patents held by Kievtractorodetal
Gussman feels the heat Kievtractorodetal has many unique technologies, which give us an edge over competing factories in price point and productivity. For instance, the Ukraine Academy of Sciences helped us to develop new pig iron for producing sleeves with an inside diameter from 60 mm, outside diameter to 170 mm, length to 650 mm. To make the sleeves we mold pig iron using melting furnaces and then do further alloying in mixers using a special duplex process.

These unique foundry processes consist of: magnetic & dynamic pumps/scales for maintaining optimal temperature and so that liquid pig iron can be automatically poured into reusable metallic molds; installations for making forms using a centrifugal technique; devices for automatically removing parts from their molds and transporting them to clearing; finished parts are automaticly transported to work zone equipment. We are also capable of manufacturing using more than 100 different progressive technologies, including: casting technology for piston rings for internal combustion engines; ladle and inside configuration technology for making different forms using high durability pig iron and others. We create sleeves & pistons for internal combustion engines using mechanical processing on highly productivity automatic lines. Lines are equipped with a boring, turning grinding, and honing process which is controlled by semiautomatic devices. Most of the equipment used at Kievtractorodetal is unique.

In accordance with technical requirements, we can make cylinder sleeves from different types of alloying pig iron. Depending on the engine type and pig iron chemical composition, sleeves may be produced either with or without thermal processing. We can make them as flat-peak or as straight-peak microrelief on the inside working surface. In the case of microrelief, we spread an anti-friction covering using special whetstones. We also have aluminum piston processing technology with oval & barrel form profile of the piston cup. For piston and sleeve production, we employ technology which prevents damage when the engine's breakin is in progress. This allows us to cut the duration of the break-in time of the sleeves & rings, and to reduce in comparison with world level of 2.5 g/l.s. per hour. Our methods are highly economical and effective. High technology allows us to produce parts with the lowest cost of production in comparison with other plants.
